How It Is:
On Monday night, the poster/roster sheet distributed to fans at the Garden featured Mark Stuart. Not only did it feature his likeness on the front, but it mentioned on the stats (and still on the website) that he’s the team’s resident Iron Man, “having played the last 195 regular season and 213 straight regular season and playoff games … Has not missed a game since breaking into the NHL on a full-time basis in 2007-08.”

On Monday night, Mark Stuart broke his sternum. Now he’s out for 4-6 weeks.

Word also broke (pun unintended) on Monday that Aaron Ward was placed on waivers by Carolina.

How It Should Be:
The Bruins need a stay at home defenseman with leadership ability and the experience necessary to fill the big shoes Stuart’s injury is leaving.

Huh. Wherever could they find someone who knows what it takes to win and is familiar with this team?

(Hey, I didn’t go breaking Stuart’s sternum or putting Ward on waivers. If it were to happen that my favorite hockey player would be signed to help out while my favorite Bruin recovers, well that’s just a thank you to me from the hockey gods.)
