It’s that distinct sound that springs forth from mouths when surprise and respect collide. It’s often paired with arms raising in the air as if you’re signifying that the kick is good.

“HU-OHHHHHHHH!”

If you were watching the Super Bowl, odds are good you made the sound when the Saints kicked off the second half with that onside kick. That kick! The recovery! The drive and the focus!

I was, like much of the viewing population, in a room with friends. Some were football fans, others not quite so much. There were conversations about television shows and games, there were references to players and seasons.

But when the momentum shifted, everyone was in unison.

“HU-OHHHHHHHH!”

Well played, Saints. You earned that. Who dat, indeed.
